The Global Business Angels Network (GBAN) announced today that Red de Inversión Ángel Paraguay is the newest organization to join its inclusive global community of early-stage investor networks.

GBAN, part of the Global Entrepreneurship Network, has more than 80 members that meet regularly to share mentorship, training and support to improve investor capacity, amplify the angel voice on regulatory issues, facilitate cross-border investing and remove policy barriers faced by investors.

“A global approach to early-stage investor capacity building is needed to ensure entrepreneurs – who are leading the charge when it comes to creating jobs – have access to the right capital at the right time,” said Jonathan Ortmans, president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network and board director at GBAN. “We are thrilled that Red de Inversión Ángel Paraguay is committed to joining us in this work.”

Red de Inversión Ángel Paraguay was created as an initiative driven by its 28 founding members and supported by KOGA and the Inter-American Development Bank's Innovation Laboratory (IDB Lab), with the aim of boosting the entrepreneurial ecosystem in Paraguay and facilitating access to financing for projects seeking to grow and expand operations.

“Our angel organization is joining the Global Business Angel Network (GBAN) to connect with a broader community of experienced investors, resources, and best practices that will significantly strengthen the investment ecosystem in Paraguay,” said Valeria Rodriguez, Executive Director of Red de Inversión Ángel Paraguay. “Being part of GBAN allows us to collaborate with other angel networks, gain insights into regional and global trends, and advocate for policies that support early-stage investing. With GBAN’s global reach and expertise, we hope to accelerate our mission to foster innovation and provide vital support to emerging entrepreneurs in Paraguay and the region.”

GBAN is led by a global board of directors with members based in Africa, North America, Asia, Europe and Latin America. It meets virtually monthly and in person once a year. The next GBAN Annual Summit will be in Indiana, USA at the Global Entrepreneurship Congress in June 2025.
