GEW Zambia partnered with Microsoft Biz4Afrika and Thinkroom South Africa to host a series of virtual networking sessions across eight countries this week. The first session yesterday included representatives from Kenya, Mauritius, Nigeria, Rwanda, South Africa, Swaziland, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
The discussion began with an overall economic evaluation of each country in attendance, and a look at industries ripe for growth in the coming years. Juvenal Turatsinze, the founder of Africa Do Business, and Catherine Young, with Thinkroom South Africa, provided the research behind these recommendations and led the discussion.
The top industry for new business development in most of the countries was agriculture and food processing. South Africa and Zimbabwe stood out with better prospects in mining, while Zambia’s construction industry has a good projection for the near future.
