DECA Announces Idea Challenge Winning Teams

DECA Inc. has announced the 2017 winners of the DECA Idea Challenge, a premiere event of Global Entrepreneurship Week.

The 2017 challenge pushed students in elementary school, middle school, high school and college to create a new use for an everyday, household item. Thi syear the competition mystery item was rubber bands. Competitors had just one week to design their innovative idea – as well as a creative pitch video of their new product.

DECA selected three winners, one for each level of the competition, based on creativity, teamwork and determination each team illustrated while competing in the challenge. 

The winning teams are:

Elementary/Middle School Level – DECA Super Stars from Gros Islet Infant School, Saint Lucia

 

High School Level – The Rubber Restrictor from River Hill High School, Maryland, United States

 

Collegiate Level – Energy Saving Rubber Band from Northwood University, Michigan, United States

Each winning team will receive a monetary award from DECA.
