Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania is growing, particularly as a hub for innovation and technology. As a result, there is a growing demand for top entrepreneurial talent in the region. The University of Pittsburgh Alumni Association is teaming up with the Innovation Institute and the Office of Career Development and Placement Assistance, to use #GEW2017 as a catalyst for year-round innovation in the region.
Through a week of events, the three organizations will work to help young entrepreneurs learn more about the resources and opportunities they have in Pittsburgh to make their startups a success. Events include:
- Social Innovation Panel on Wednesday, November 15. Pittsburgh’s Good Neighbors: Entrepreneurs who are changing our region and world! Is a fire side chat with Thread International, Rorus, 412 Food Rescue and Eco-Soap Bank that will focus on how these ventures went from inspiration to impact.
- Startup Expo at Carnegie Mellon University on Thursday, November 16. Presented by Project Olympus and the Pittsburgh Tech Meetup, the expo will bring together over 30 local startups and more than 300 applicants interested in working for a startup.
- PDMA Pittsburgh Closing Student Pitch Competition on Friday, November 17. Eight teams from Pitt and CMU will compete for cash prizes, access to local resources and mentorship opportunities.
