Endeavor offices around the world hosted and participated in a number of activities celebrating the transformative economic power of entrepreneurial ecosystems during 2016 Global Entrepreneurship Week, which took place November 14-20, 2016. Each year, more than a dozen Endeavor affiliates mark the week, joining the movement of more than 160 countries and millions of participants. GEW works with supporting organizations like Endeavor every November to foster opportunities for collaboration, discussion and inspiration.

Below are some highlights of Endeavor’s GEW activities in a selection of countries.

Endeavor Argentina participated in events in a number of cities across the country. In Buenos Aires, Endeavor played an integral role in organizing “Día del Emprendador,” or, “Entrepreneur Day,” an all day event held at Universidad Argentina de la Empresa which brought together entrepreneurs, investors and leaders across diverse fields for panel discussions and educational forums. As part of the event, Endeavor held a discussion on cultivating supportive ecosystems for entrepreneurs. Endeavor also organized a networking event in Mendoza, featuring panels with local business leaders and workshops focusing on innovation and technology.

Endeavor Brazil hosted “Endeavor Week,” offering three days of free online mentoring sessions for entrepreneurs, featuring opportunities to hear from leaders in the local ecosystem and ask them questions. The mentoring programming focused on three different themes: strategic planning, entrepreneurial cities, and transforming the teaching of entrepreneurship.

As an official country host of GEW, Endeavor Chile helped organize activities and events throughout the month of November with many partner organizations. Endeavor Chile also held “Experiencia Endeavor Atacama,” a series of events in three parts: Endeavor Workshops, featuring discussions and workshops focusing on launching ideas successfully; Endeavor Talks, which featured chats and advice from prominent business leaders and high-impact entrepreneurs; and Endeavor Connects, a series group meetings, mentorship and networking opportunities.

Endeavor Indonesia participated in GEW by launching online content to highlight one of this year’s themes: Women in Entrepreneurship. During the week, Endeavor Indonesia recognized powerful voices and ambassadors that promote women entrepreneurs through interviews on their blog, and publicized events, activities and competitions targeted toward women in entrepreneurship, using the hashtag #GEWWomen to share their posts worldwide.

Endeavor Jordan launched a week-long social media initiative to highlight local high-impact entrepreneurs. Through visual graphics on Twitter and Facebook and the hashtag #HighImpactIs, Endeavor Jordan introduced a variety of their entrepreneurs across different industries, who shared what “high-impact” meant to them and their companies.

A partner organization of GEW, Endeavor Louisville participated in events such as 5Across-Louisville, an informal gathering of entrepreneurs, investors and service providers where local entrepreneurs pitched their ideas to a panel of judges.

As an official partner of GEW 2016, Endeavor Miami collaborated on events around the city. Endeavor Miami organized and led “Pitch Craft,” a workshop featuring a combination of practical exercises and communications principles to help entrepreneurs hone their companies’ messaging, elevator pitches and communications with investors. Attended by many of Endeavor Miami’s mentors and entrepreneurs, the event was facilitated by Karen Guggenheim, chief communications officer for World Happiness Summit.

Saudi Arabia

Endeavor Saudi Arabia and the office’s entrepreneurs participated in a variety of events — from a forum to empower Saudi Arabian youth to Women’s Entrepreneurship Day — and launched a new initiative. Topics included youth entrepreneurs, the changing investor network landscape in South Africa, and cities and ecosystems.
