With Global Entrepreneurship Week less than a month away, local organizers in more than 160 countries are mobilizing to celebrate entrepreneurship and the entrepreneurial spirit that helps economies grow and communities thrive.
During November 14 – 20, an expected10 million people will celebrate GEW simultaneously around the world, and the Global Entrepreneurship Network has selected high-impact events and competitions in a variety of countries that have an international reach with the 2016 Global Picks, and are relevant to the GEW theme featured events.

As you learn how to create a real company, you'll meet the very best mentors, investors, co-founders and sponsors who are ready to help you get started.
As part of GEW Youth, the MiSK Global Forum, held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, is a two-day event covering culture and technology for young Saudis and Arab youth in partnership with the brightest minds in the world. This unique gathering aims to unleash the potential of the country's youth and advance the Saudi National Transformation Program and the Vision 2030.
On the Road in Canada is a contest that showcases some of the rock star entrepreneurs and small businesses across the country, as well as highlights some of the great events and initiatives that are happening during Global Entrepreneurship Week in November.
Demand Solutions in Buenos Aires, Argentina, is a featured GEW Women event, and brings together the most creative minds in the world of health, water and sanitation, and women entrepreneurs in the STEM field. Additionally, there will be a Venture Night to discuss and share innovative solutions to the challenges facing Latin America and the Caribbean.
Failing Forward in Brussels, Belgium, is an inspirational keynote conference, where seasoned entrepreneurs will give an honest testimonial about the hardships they have faced on their way to success, and the lessons learned that helped them through -- breaking through the stigma associated with failure in Belgium and Europe.
The African Angel Investor Summit is one of the GEW Investors featured events, and is held in Nigeria. All presentations, keynotes and workshops during the 2016 Summit will be centered on how different players in the ecosystem – angels, VC’s, government, crowdfunders etc – can cooperate and support each other.
MENA Angel Investors Summit, held in Bahrain, is a one-of-a-kind conference in the region that brings angel investors and venture capitalists from around the world to network and share best practices, as well as providing an opportunity for startups to pitch for funding at the event.
Entrepreneurship + Migration, held in Switzerland, will foster a discussion to create an enabling ecosystem to maximize the impact of diaspora investment for SDGs and how remittances can become a source of self-employment and productive investment, as well as how entrepreneurs can contribute to peace and prosperity in fragile and post-conflict countries.
As part of the GEW Scale-Ups featured events, the Disrupt INCmty Entrepreneurship Festival in Mexico is one of the largest gathering for entrepreneurs in Latin America, brings together thousands of entrepreneurs, investors, startup support organizations and ecosystem players to share knowledge and best practices, as well as to create and stimulate high-impact ventures and initiatives that promote entrepreneurship.
The How to Get There Summit in the Netherlands is a gathering of more than 2,500 top innovators in the Netherlands in networking and collaboration, and allows for entrepreneurs to meet with 350 startups through the Get in the Ring pitch competition, and connect with more than 150 investors who are part of the ecosystem in the country.
