With Global Entrepreneurship Week about halfway over, events are still pouring onto the website. So which countries are leading the way?
Please note: the team at the Global Entrepreneurship Network will be compiling and validating data for several weeks after GEW wraps up — so the following counts are unofficial and will continue to change. Final tallies are confirmed through surveys and debriefs with each national host organization.
At the time of publishing, Brazil, led by Sebrae, the Brazilian Micro and Small Business Support Service, and Ethiopia, led by the Entrepreneurship Development Institute, sit atop the leaderboard - both with over 5,700 events and remarkable showings for both campaigns.
In third place is Jordan, hosted by the Queen Rania Center for Entrepreneurship, with 1,515 events registered so far.
Algeria, coordinated by GEN Algeria with strong support from government ministries, reports over 800 events.
Rounding out the top five is the United States, catalyzed through support from the Kauffman Foundation, with 623 events.
National campaigns in Pakistan, the Philippines, Bangladesh, Spain, and the Dominican Republic complete the top 10.
Also notable: the United Kingdom, Colombia, Paraguay, Uganda, and Canada, all contributing vibrant campaigns to this year’s celebration.
