Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 is well underway, and Central Texas has embraced this year’s theme, Entrepreneurship is for Everyone, with events that inspire, connect, and empower.
The celebration began with a remarkable evening at Livra Books, where author Hanae Bezad shared her transformative book, Being Other. The official GEW pre-launch event brought together community members, entrepreneurs, and innovators to explore how adversity can be a foundation for leadership and creativity. The evening set the tone for what has already become a week of powerful connections and opportunities for all.
With an early start on November 14, Splash Coworking hosted the San Marcos Main Street Small Business Workshop Series, an interactive lunch session designed to cultivate the entrepreneurial mindset. Attendees are not just learning skills; they’re engaging in conversations that could ignite the next big idea.
As the week unfolds, the energy continues to build, on November 19, Splash opens its doors again for a FREE Homebuyer Workshop, tailored specifically for entrepreneurs navigating the often-challenging road to homeownership. This event is a game-changer, offering insights and resources to help attendees take the first steps toward making their dream homes a reality. On the same day, the Texas State University Student Pitch Competition brings fresh energy to the scene. The excitement of watching students pitch their bold ideas reminds us all of the endless possibilities when creativity meets determination.
Then, on November 20, the entrepreneurial community will gather at the San Marcos Library for the annual 1 Million Cups Town Hall. Featuring a panel of past presenters, this event is more than a reflection—it’s a celebration of growth, lessons learned, and the relationships that fuel progress.
Finally, on November 23, GEW will close with a deeply meaningful event: International Survivors of Suicide Loss Day. These gathering pays tribute to the importance of mental health within entrepreneurship, offering a space for healing, support, and resilience. It’s a reminder that the entrepreneurial journey is as much about perseverance as it is about innovation.
From hands-on workshops to community-driven conversations, Central Texas is proving that entrepreneurship truly is for everyone. Whether you're a seasoned entrepreneur or someone with an idea just taking shape, there’s still time to join the celebration and be part of this vibrant movement.
