For more than 17 years, the Global Entrepreneurship Network has been focused on making it possible for anyone, anywhere to start and grow a business. Through a range of programs and research projects, it has focused on the importance of fostering a more entrepreneurial culture among communities and countries – with a big piece of that being a more entrepreneurial mindset among individuals.

During Global Entrepreneurship Week, long-time GEN member, author and education and training expert, Gary Schoeniger will preview his new book, The Entrepreneurial Mindset Advantage, that digs deeper into the topic. It examines the importance of fostering creativity and problem-solving skills from a young age, advocating for educational reforms that encourage entrepreneurial discovery learning.

The webinar, scheduled for Thursday, November 21st at 1:00 pm ET, will take a sneak peek at key insights from the book and feature a pre-release Q+A.

Earlier this year, GEN founder and president Jonathan Ortmans sat down with Schoeniger during GEC+Puerto Rico to discuss the transformative power of the entrepreneurial mindset and its role in unleashing human potential. Their conversation covered a number of points, including:

  • Entrepreneurship should be redefined as a mindset that is relevant to everyone, not just those who start businesses. This mindset involves the self-directed pursuit of opportunities to create value for others.
  • The entrepreneurial mindset is essential in today's rapidly changing world as it encourages creativity, adaptability, and problem-solving skills, which are crucial for thriving amidst technological advancements like AI.
  • Education plays a crucial role in nurturing the entrepreneurial mindset. Introducing entrepreneurial discovery learning early can cultivate this mindset, leading to greater innovation and problem-solving abilities in society.
