Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 was a transformative experience for our Heimerer ecosystem, uniting around 200 participants, including students, staff, and lecturers, in five days of inspiring activities. With three engaging lectures and five dynamic speakers, the week celebrated the entrepreneurial spirit, sparking creativity and collaboration across our community.
The week began with an impactful alumni panel featuring three Heimerer College graduates who shared their entrepreneurial journeys, recounting challenges and successes. Their stories deeply resonated with the audience, inspiring students to pursue their aspirations. One participant remarked, “It was so enjoyable to listen to these real-life stories. I can’t wait to be part of this event again next year!”
On Tuesday, innovation took center stage with a hands-on workshop exploring how AI can streamline research processes. Participants were introduced to tools like big data and machine learning, equipping them with practical skills to integrate AI into their workflows.
Wednesday’s LEGO session, “What the Duck?”, brought creativity to life. Participants built LEGO ducks, sparking discussions on collaboration and diverse perspectives to address campus sustainability challenges. The interactive activity demonstrated how even simple ideas can drive innovation.
Thursday’s casual brainstorming session, “Empowering Changemakers,” invited staff, students, and stakeholders to co-create ideas for fostering an entrepreneurial mindset. Discussions emphasized collective intelligence and laid the groundwork for future eco-friendly initiatives, such as the eco-village project.
The week concluded on Friday with “From Idea to Prototype,” a dynamic workshop guiding students through the entrepreneurial journey. By the end, participants had developed frugal prototypes addressing health and well-being challenges. A student shared, “This was a great opportunity to bring our ideas to life—I learned so much and felt empowered!”
Global Entrepreneurship Week 2024 at Heimerer College was more than just a series of events—it was a celebration of ideas, innovation, and community. The enthusiastic feedback and meaningful engagements demonstrated our ecosystem’s dedication to fostering growth and inspiration.
