A Message from Global Entrepreneurship Week co-founder and GEN president Jonathan Ortmans (Video Transcript):
Happy Global Entrepreneurship Week 2025. How exciting it is that we're coming together once again as a world to celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit. Our theme this year, Together We Build, is most appropriate. We face a time in our world's history where too many of our nations have too many things to fight about. Entrepreneurs are in many ways the new diplomats - because one thing we have in common across all national boundaries is a passion to solve, to build, to create, to form teams, to form communities, and we view the world as one global entrepreneurial ecosystem. We hope that during Global Entrepreneurship Week we can celebrate the entrepreneurial spirit. We can celebrate all the things we have in common. We can find new ways to support, collaborate, and connect with each other. And, we can look for ways that we can be part of an entrepreneurial dream.
If you are already an advocate for entrepreneurship and you're either supporting as an ecosystem leader or an investor, thank you for your work. You're doing incredibly important work inspiring more of your citizens to be a part of this journey. However, if you have never experienced Global Entrepreneurship Week, you're the person we do Global Entrepreneurship Week for every year. Go kick the tires. Find the events and activities in your community, not just during Global Entrepreneurship Week, but year-round.
Consider whether you have it in you. Do you have an idea? Do you want to work for someone with an idea? The world needs more entrepreneurs. This wonderful celebration we have is about encouraging more people like you to take the path to take a risk to figure out whether you could join a team, test an idea, and find a new way of doing something.
