Buxton, Guyana – The Global Entrepreneurship Network is excited to announce the opening of a new Startup Huddle chapter in Buxton, Guyana to support the growth of the local startup community while crowdsourcing advice and support for its entrepreneurs. Buxton joins a global network of more than 80 Startup Huddle chapters worldwide.

In addition to providing direct support to entrepreneurs, the Startup Huddle program addresses a critical element of success for all entrepreneur ecosystems – connectivity. According to GEN research, startup communities with higher levels of local connectedness translate to an increased number of startups – and that founders with high levels of connectivity grow their revenue twice as fast as those with lower levels.

"Our team is excited as we are pioneering a program that holds tremendous economic and social value within our community," said Startup Huddle Buxton organizer Shamane Headley. "Through this program, we hope to foster a community of successful businesses, thereby supporting social and economic stability for residents. Our goal is to empower businessmen and women, helping to stimulate business development across all communities along the Coast."

Startup Huddle Buxton events will feature local entrepreneurs presenting their business challenges in six-minute sessions, followed by 20 minutes of feedback and discussion with an audience comprising peers, mentors, educators, and advisers. This format is designed to provide immediate, actionable insights and to foster a supportive community atmosphere.

"The Startup Huddle Community in Buxton will provide valuable insights for mitigating current business challenges, with contributions from peers and experts within the local ecosystem," said Headley. "Participation is an opportunity for business growth and development, benefiting from immediate feedback and various support avenues."

The chapter is supported by the Buxton Friendship Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Community Development Group and welcomes all startups and existing businesses within Buxton/Friendship and surrounding villages to participate.
