Linden, Guyana – The Global Entrepreneurship Network is excited to announce the opening of a new Startup Huddle chapter in Linden, Guyana to support the growth of the local startup community while crowdsourcing advice and support for its entrepreneurs. Chennai joins a global network of more than 80 Startup Huddle chapters world-wide.

In addition to providing direct support to entrepreneurs, the Startup Huddle program addresses a critical element of success for all entrepreneur ecosystems – connectivity. According to GEN research, startup communities with higher levels of local connectedness translate to an increased number of startups – and that founders with high levels of connectivity grow their revenue twice as fast as those with lower levels.

"Our primary goal is to facilitate the development of at least 10 new business ideas into viable enterprises within the next year." said Startup Huddle Linden organizer Michael Turner. "Additionally, we aim to aid the growth and maturation of at least 5 existing small businesses in our community."

At each Startup Huddle event, local founders give six-minute presentations outlining challenges facing their companies. Each presentation is followed by a 20-minute conversation with an audience of peers, mentors, educators and advisers who provide constructive criticism focused on finding solutions and increasing founder know-how. With new founders cycling through each gathering, and previous presenters joining the audience to give back, the community continues to expand while connections deepen.

"We believe that through expanding business networks, fostering capacity building, and promoting knowledge sharing," said Turner. "Linden's entrepreneurial landscape can be transformed."

Startup Huddle Linden is supported by community leader such as Grace Tappin, Clement Henry, Michael Kendal, Jumoul Sancho, and Ruben Stuger, who will contribute their expertise and mentorship to nurture the next generation of entrepreneurs, as well as the Guyana Economic Development Trust, LENS Association, and other local entities.
