GEN in Angola

GEN's work in Angola began with Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) in 2015, drawing 1,300 participants. This early engagement reflected Angola's emerging interest in using entrepreneurship as a tool for economic diversification and post-oil growth.

In 2016, Angola deepened its involvement with the Angola Forum for Competitive Knowledge, Innovation and Development serving as our national GEW host. That same year, GEN published a feature highlighting that "Angolan Innovators Are at the Epicenter of Economic Growth," signaling optimism about the country's entrepreneurial potential. From 2017 to 2022, Touch & Talk took over as the consistent GEW host organization, providing several years of stable leadership for national campaigns. In 2023, the hosting role transitioned to Acelera Angola, which continued in 2024, indicating a shift toward more accelerator-driven ecosystem coordination.

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
