ABOUT US DURA Ltd., the City of Dubrovnik Development Agency, is a professional and non-profit organization established by the City of Dubrovnik, whose primary aim is to prepare and implement EU-funded projects. DURA offers individual advisory services for the preparation of projects covering broad fields, such as: tourism, SME’s, civil society, culture, energy efficiency, sustainable mobility and environmental protection. The agency offers a link between the city government and other institutions and organisations working on sustainable local development. The project will contribute to the development of the Dubrovnik historical centre, will raise awareness on the politics of the European Union and will improve competences in European planning. A minimum of three new joint projects will be achieved. 2. OLYMPIC HOPES LEAD PARTNER: Herceg Novi Water Polo Club (Montenegro) PARTNERS: DURA, Jadran Water Polo Club (Croatia), Jug Water Polo Club (Croatia); Primorac Water Polo Club (Montenegro), Cattaro (Montenegro), Water Polo Academy (Montenegro) IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 15.04.2013 – 14.04.2014 TOTAL VALUE: EUR 143.547,50 EU CO-FINANCING: EUR 40.959,31 PROGRAMME: IPA Adriatic Cross-Border Cooperation Programme The main objective of the project was to foster development and strengthen cross-border cooperation in order to promote sports as a tool for the reintegration of children, youth and people, and to support good-neighbour relations among younger generations. The project established permanent contacts between water polo clubs in the Dubrovnik-Neretva County and along the Montenegrin coast where by the development of sports for children and youth will be supported. 3. T.H.I.N.K. LEAD PARTNER: Dubrovnik Kindergartens (Croatia) PARTNERS: DURA, City of Dubrovnik (Croatia); Radost Kotor Kindergartens (Montenegro), Kotor County (Montenegro) IMPLEMENATTION PERIOD: 01.04.2013 – 31.03.2014 TOTAL VALUE: EUR 102.866,60 EU CO-FINANCING: EUR 42.619,23 PROGRAMME: IPA Adriatic Cross-Border Cooperation Programme The main objective was to contribute towards improvements in the educational system of pre-school children in the cross-border area. Kindergartens in Dubrovnik and Kotor built up the capacity of their teachers for the implementation of Mensa NTC learning. Cross-border cooperation was developed through the project, raising awareness in the cross-border communities on innovative approaches in the education of preschool children and on the values of cross-border cooperation. 4. The result will be the analysis and identification of the most efficient techniques for the implementation of this technology through pilot projects. The pilot project for the City of Dubrovnik is the installation of a specialized solar-cooling system, 35-200 kW. 5. An Info Centre for Youth and Working Bodies for youth were established through this project. 7. FLOW4YOU LEAD PARTNER: Municipality of Cervia (Italy) PARTNERS: City of Fidenza (Italy) , City of Fidenza( Italy), City of Ravenna (Italy); City of Mjölby (Sweden); City of Jyväskylä, City of Inari( Finland), City of Rovaniemi (Finland); City of Dubrovnik (Croatia) IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: September 2011 - May 2013 TOTAL VALUE: EUR 108.789,37 EU CO-FINANCING: EUR 9.500,00 PROGRAMME: “Europe for Citizens” Programme The project objectives were to establish an effective dialogue with youth through workshops, informative centres and the stimulation of youth for more a participatory role in decision-making processes. The result was the establishment of a network between youth and public institutions. 8. PREPARATION OF DOCUMENTATION FOR THE RENOVATION OF A RENAISSANCE WATER SYSTEM ROUTE IN DUBROVNIK LEAD PARTNER: City of Dubrovnik IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: August 2014 – May 2015 VALUE FOR THE CITY OF DUBROVNIK: EUR 65,789.47 FINANCING: Croatian Ministry of Tourism, City of Dubrovnik The aim is to renovate a Renaissance gravitational water system route in Dubrovnik dating to the 15th century. The source starts in Šumet, extending to the city area of Nuncijata, with its pertaining elements along an 8.5 km route. The project will contribute to the overall touristic offer of the city through the renovation of this route as a walking-cycling area. The first phase involves the preparation of project documentation The renewal of the Early Renaissance aqueduct, as an attractive cultural good, will encourage the development of the tourist supply in the immediate area, in the settlements Knežica, Šumet and Nuncijata (family and hospitality businesses), which were not included in the Dubrovnik tourist supply. The renewed Early Renaissance aqueduct will become a new tourist attraction for the City of Dubrovnik, which will ease congestion in the historical center. 9. DU NET LEAD PARTNER: City of Dubrovnik PARTNER: DURA IMPLEMENATION PERIOD: 2014 - TOTAL VALUE: EUR 9.210,52 FINANCING: City of Dubrovnik The aim is to develop a network for connecting unemployed citizens with the local economy and entrepreneurs in order to provide information on new job opportunities. The overall objective is to increase the employment rate. Therefore, the Dubrovnik network has been designed as a tool for connecting employers and potential employees. 10. STARTUP WEEKEND ORGANIZER: DURA IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 2013 - FINANCING: Croatian Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts The Startup Weekend aims at gathering different profiles in order to provide an opportunity for individuals to create their own start-ups. The Startup Weekend is a 3-day event, which takes place in more than 400 cities worldwide. The Startup Weekend unites culture, technology, education and businesses so as to identify and support the development of bright ideas and the right opportunities in our community and networks. 11. E-BUSINESS LEAD PARTNER: Croatian Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts PARTNERS: DURA, LORA Business Park, Bjelovar, KARLA Development agency, Karlovac County, ZARA Development Agency, Zagorje, LIRA Development Agency, Lika-Senj, RERA Development Agency, Split-Dalmatia County, RRA Development Agency, Šibenik-Knin County, VIDRA Agency for Development, Virovitica-Podravina County, HRAST Agency for Development, Vukovar-Srijem County (CROATIA) IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 14.01.2013 – 13.11.2014 TOTAL VALUE: EUR 500.00,00 VALUE FOR THE CITY OF DUBROVNIK: EUR 50,000.00 FINANCING: Croatian Ministry of Entrepreneurship and Crafts The project aimed at improving the business infrastructure for SMEs through the usage of electronic business. The project will enable SMEs to better develop innovative solutions with regard to the specific areas of their business. Workshops and two campaigns will be organized for SMEs within the project. 12. ENERGETIC CERTIFICATION OF DURA LEAD PARTNER: City of Dubrovnik PARTNERS: DURA, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 15.02.2013 – 15.06.2014 TOTAL VALUE: EUR 1.040,00 FINANCING: Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund The aim was to inform the general public on the energy certification of buildings. The “Idea Factory” building was certified under this project. The certificate was publically displayed next to the “EE Info” Office, where the general public can obtain information on energy efficiency certification procedures. 13. PROMOTION OF RENEWABLE ENERGY USE IN DUBROVNIK HOUSEHOLDS LEAD PARTNER: City of Dubrovnik PARTNERS: DURA, Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund IMPLEMENATION PERIOD: 15.02.2013 – 15.05.2014 TOTAL VALUE: EUR 315.789,47 FINANCING: Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund The aim was to encourage better installation of solar collectors for domestic hot water and heating in 80 households in Dubrovnik. As a result of great interest, a project was prepared for renewable energy use of individual entities. 14. PREPARATION OF DOCUMENTATION FOR THE PROJECT: SOLAR COLLECTORS ON THE ROOF OF THE „VK JUG“ POOL LEAD PARTNER: “Dubrovnik Sport Facilities” Public Institution PARTNERS: DURA, City of Dubrovnik and Environmental Protection and Energy Efficiency Fund IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 15.04.2013 – 15.02.2014 TOTAL VALUE: EUR 27.296,05 FINANCING: Environmental and Energy Efficiency Fund The aim was to prepare project documentation for the installation of solar collectors on the city pool roof. The city pool is centred within the Gruž area and uses fuel oil for heating. To achieve greater efficiency and more savings, a solar system was installed on the city pool roof, which will save up to 25.1% or 108 tons of CO2 annually. 15. 50 + Job-Finding Service - Senior Services IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 2012 - FINANCING: City of Dubrovnik 50 + is a programme initiated by the City of Dubrovnik, whose objective was the easier employment of persons aged over 50 years, by providing child care services, care for the elderly etc. The result was the establishment of the Senior Services j.d.o.o. by DURA. DURA opened a free telephone line (0800 2551) for the service, with the aim of creating a useful database. 16. IDEAS FACTORY LEAD PARTNER: DURA PARTNER: City of Dubrovnik IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 2011 - TOTAL VALUE: EUR 116,712.02 FINANCING: “Entrepreneurship Impulse” The ‘Ideas Factory’ is aimed at helping youth and new entrepreneurs in the city to build up their capacity for the independent management of businesses on the local market through the provision of free working spaces and unique service packages. 17. ENERGY MANAGEMENT SYSTEM LEAD PARTNER: UNDP (Croatia) PARTNERS: 127 Croatian cities and counties IMPLEMENTATION PERIOD: 2010 - FINANCING: Environmental and Energy Efficiency Fund The main goal of the EMS Project is to create local expert capacities and to implement the process of continuous and systematic energy management. This involves the implementation of a systematic energy management model, strategic energetic planning and sustainable energy resource management, which will contribute to a reduced emission of gases in the atmosphere and the stimulation of new types of businesses.
