Air University Islamabad Organizes Seminar On “Technology For Entrepreneurs”

"Use of Technology in all walks of life is need of the hour. Students should do better use of technology to help Pakistan to achieve the goal of becoming Knowledge Economy. Air University is taking every measure to support students to get advantages of available technological resources at campus". This was said by Air Cdre. (R) Afzaal Ahmad Khan, Director ORIC of Air University Islamabad while addressing to participants of seminar organized by ORIC in collaboration with US Embassy Islamabad and Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) Pakistan. He said that becoming a job seeker will never be helpful for students, their families and Pakistan. Unemployment is the biggest challenge and Entrepreneurship can help to cater this issue. Students are most fertile brains which can easily use technology for economic activities.

Ms. Rebecca Garcia of Microsoft presented a lecture on use of technology for entrepreneurs. She remained part of IT team of former US President Barack Obama. She told that secret behind US economic development is better and maximum use of technology for its economic activates. She told that all first generation successful US entrepreneurs were technology lovers and they make themselves as successful example for world’s entrepreneurs to follow. She inspired the students to make every effort to economically engage with technology and try to remove any pains of society with the help of technology.

Mr. Kashif M Khan Managing Director of GEN Pakistan gave a presentation on GEN Pakistan's entreprenerial activities, projects and programs. He told the students and faculty that they should come up with IT based ideas and GEN Pakistan will help and support them to pitch their ideas at national and international forums.  

Dr Afzaal Ahmad Malik, advisor to AU VC told that nationas like China, US, Japan are making it easier for anyone, anywhere to start and scale a business. By fostering deeper cross border collaboration and initiatives between entrepreneurs, investors, researchers, policymakers and entrepreneurial support organizations Pakistan can make success stories in the field of Entrepreneurship.
