GEN Spain has closed the 15th edition of the Global Entrepreneurship Week with successful participation, beating yet another year's record in registered activities.

During Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) 2022, held from November 14 to 20, led in Spain by Autoocupació with the support of the Government of Spain from the Ministry of Labor and Social Economy, 531 entrepreneurial events were held.

Some of the highlights of GEW Spain 2022 are the Startup Huddle in Tarragona, which boosted the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the area and raised awareness of the global format of the Startup Huddle, the Empenzar Fest festival in Andalusia, with hundreds of activities, including the Top 50 Emprendemos Awards Gala, and the Deusto Emprende Week, which brought the wide world of entrepreneurship to the students of Deusto University.

In this edition of GEW, Autoocupació coordinated these activities with the participation of regional ambassadors. These ambassadors are Andalucía Emprende (Andalusia), Universidad de Deusto (Basque Country), Fundación Ronsel (Galicia), Instituto de Innovación Empresarial de las Islas Baleares (Balearic Islands), Aprofem (Castilla La Mancha) and Mentorday (Canary Islands). In addition, more than 100 public and private organizations participated, in 11 autonomous communities and in more than 50 cities.

The week prior to GEW, the GEN Spain team attended Biz Barcelona to promote GEW 2022 at the benchmark event for the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the city and Catalonia. The aim of GEW is to celebrate and promote entrepreneurship, connect entrepreneurial ecosystems and facilitate that anyone in the world has the enthusiasm, skills and access to the necessary resources to create their own company.
