Start Your Business

Looking at the high rate of unemployment among the youth particularly in third world countries, there is the need to incite the entrepreneurial skills among the youth from these countries. Most of the people who were found in the unemployment category are, unfortunately, the youth who have finished either basic education, senior high school and tertiary education.

It is however interesting to note that most of these unemployed people have a rough idea on a type of business they would like a start-up, but lack the required skills and expertise to do so. The aim of this workshop is thus to introduce the Generate Your Business (GYB) and Start Your Business (SYB) module to potential entrepreneurs who have the intention of starting their own businesses. These business modules have been painstakingly put together by the International Labor Organization (ILO) and the target is to help reduce the high rate of unemployment across the globe in the long run.

The Generate Your Business Idea (GYB) is a training program for people who want to start a business but are not sure of the business idea to pursue. It assists potential entrepreneurs to identify different business ideas, to analyze them and select the most promising one. The GYB complements International Labor Organization (ILO’s) Start Your Business (SYB) training program as a potential entrepreneur needs to have a clear idea of the business they propose to start.
