Lima, Peru — June 12, 2025 — The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) proudly announces the official launch of Startup Huddle Lima to support the growth of the local startup community while crowdsourcing advice and support for its entrepreneurs. The chapter was officially activated following the Global Entrepreneurship Congress (GEC) 2025, where Peruvian ecosystem builder Ronald Barzola was inspired to bring the program to his community. Lima joins a global network of more than 60 Startup Huddle chapters worldwide.

In addition to providing direct support to entrepreneurs, the Startup Huddle program addresses a critical element of success for all entrepreneur ecosystems – connectivity. According to GEN research, startup communities with higher levels of local connectedness translate to an increased number of startups – and that founders with high levels of connectivity grow their revenue twice as fast as those with lower levels.

"The inspiration came from seeing the potential of entrepreneurial communities in Peru, who are actively seeking spaces to strengthen their ideas and networks," said Barzola. "Startup Huddle represents a unique opportunity for founders to connect, share challenges, and learn from one another in a truly collaborative setting."

Barzola’s decision to launch the Lima chapter was solidified at GEC 2025 after witnessing how startups from around the world scaled their impact through structured community support and global visibility provided by Startup Huddle. “It was the exchange of ideas and the positive energy in the room that made me realize Lima was ready for this,” he added.

Peru’s entrepreneurial ecosystem is at a pivotal moment. With growing interest in innovation, expanding access to funding, and an increasing number of support programs, Startup Huddle will support the growth of Lima’s entrepreneurship community. “What entrepreneurs in Lima need now is visibility, community, and access to resources that can accelerate their journey,” Barzola emphasized.

Startup Huddle Lima aims to support startups working on impactful, innovative solutions—from technology to sustainability—and foster an inclusive space where entrepreneurs from all backgrounds can thrive. “Peruvian entrepreneurs are incredibly resilient. Despite barriers like limited access to international networks or funding, they continue to develop creative solutions to local problems, often with a strong social focus,” he noted.

The first Startup Huddle Lima session is set for August 2025, offering a space for entrepreneurs to present their startups, receive live feedback, and connect with mentors and fellow founders. Attendees can expect an engaging introduction to Lima’s entrepreneurial ecosystem, new collaboration opportunities, and a deeper connection with Peru’s innovation-driven future.

Reflecting on his experience at GEC 2025, Barzola shared, “Being welcomed into the global Startup Huddle community was incredibly moving. The warmth and generosity of this community gave me confidence that we’re building something powerful—not just in Lima, but for the world.”

As Startup Huddle Lima takes flight, Barzola envisions a vibrant, self-sustaining community of entrepreneurs. “My dream for the first year with Startup Huddle is to cultivate real relationships that go beyond the sessions. I want Peruvian startups to gain global visibility, find new partners, and unlock funding that can transform their ideas into impact.”

Entrepreneurs, mentors, and supporters are invited to join the movement by registering for upcoming sessions, sharing their stories, and offering their expertise.
