GEN board director Donna Harris was today named to the INSIDER SEED 25, a list curated by American news publication Business Insider of the 25 best female early-stage investors.

"In the world of venture capital, who you know rather than what you can do, often determines how far you rise," writes Business Insider. "This system leaves women out and keeps them out, but over the past decade, women in finance have systemically fought back, firing up their own firms and networks or investing their way into bigger deals and managed funds. Women have become a force in seed-stage investing."

Harris, a serial entrepreneur and venture capitalist who mobilizes communities and entrepreneurs around solving problems that really matter, joins other successful entrepreneurs and investors on the list including Caterina Fake, co-founder of Flickr and Marissa Mayer, who designed the interface for Google Search.

Donna is the founder of Builders + Backers, a fund and movement created to ignite action in communities across the world through entrepreneurial leadership and action.
