On 20 November 2019, Startup Huddle Dhaka is going to host Startup Huddle Dhaka Day. Startup Huddle is a program designed to help one entrepreneur at a time while strengthening the local ecosystem. On that day, 3 early stages startups will present in from of the large audiences.
Entrepreneurs discover solutions to the challenges they face through purposeful engagement with a broad array of voices from their local community. The Startup Huddle format is consistent in each location: at a consistent meeting place, one or two early-stage startup founders give a six-minute presentation about their company to a diverse audience from their local community. Each presentation is followed by a 20-minute question and answer session where the community provides ideas, connections, and feedback for the entrepreneur.
“The program like Startup Huddle is important to introduce in a country [like ours] because it provides fruitful connections among the startups and will inspire them to do something innovative,” said Iqbal. “Here, the knowledge will be shared, learning will be cross-checked, networking will flourish.”
By providing a monthly meet up for the local ecosystem, Startup Huddle Dhaka builds community – one entrepreneur at a time.
As opposed to a traditional “pitch” environment, Startup Huddle was not created to be critical of entrepreneurs, but rather for the presenters to learn from shared experiences and find ways to support one another as a community.
