Virgin Unite’s Action Network was just the platform William Adoasi needed for his company, Vitae London as it allowed him to build upon the one core value at the heart of his business. Will explains how the ‘People Challenge’ inspired him and what he learnt from the experience.
Vitae London is a watch brand. Vitae is Latin for life and our mantra is to be the fashion brand changing lives. We believe education has the power to end cycles of poverty, so with the watches we sell we buy children in Africa the basics they need in order to get to school.
I've always been inspired by Virgin's desire to do ‘good’ and rally behind other businesses, positively impacting the world. Being a part of the Action Network enables me to be better equipped to do this and be a part of a group of other like-minded businesses.
I had a basic understanding of core values, but the Action Network has definitely enhanced my knowledge. One of our core values has always been to impact the lives of children in Africa. The Action Network has really enabled us to better define this and more eloquently share it, as well as embed our other values.
I've learnt the power of better defining your core values and ensuring they bleed through every aspect of your business. It’s been great to have the networking opportunities through this journey and being able to foster good relationships with other businesses and members of the Virgin staff who are all just as passionate about people and the planet.
