Global Entrepreneurship Week (GEW) works to gather entrepreneurs around the world – bringing new audiences together and strengthening the connections of local ecosystems everywhere.

GEW 2021 will take place in more than 180 countries with over 20,000 partners, 40,000 activities and 10 million people worldwide. With this year's celebration on the horizon (Nov. 8-14, 2021), the GEW team will be sharing a weekly roundup of some of the amazing activities and events that are being planned and happening throughout GEW on every continent.

Through the GEW Weekly Roundup, you will find a collection of 'global picks' that explore each of the four themes for this year's celebration: EducationEcosystemsPolicy and Inclusion. Below is a look at a handful of recent press coverage.

  • Guatemala Announces Global Entrepreneurship Week 2021
    (Republica // Guatemala)
    Over twelve days, different activities will be carried out to support entrepreneurs throughout the country under Global Entrepreneurship Week. The event promotes workshops, trainings and fairs. In addition, analysis and discussions of public policies in favor of the productive sector are planned for the week.

  • Global Entrepreneurship Week in Poland
    (Niepolomice EU // Poland)
    Organizers in Poland are hosting a webinar titled, "Where to get money for improving competences" during Global Entrepreneurship Week. During the webinar, current projects co-financed from European Funds will be discussed, enabling the development of competences and advisory assistance for the business sector.

  • Qatar Development Bank Hosts Second Annual Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference During GEW

    Qatar Development Bank (QDB) announced the launch of the 7th edition of the Qatar Entrepreneurship Conference, which will be held under the theme “Digital Transformation & Thriving in the New Economy” during the Global Entrepreneurship Week. Following the success of its first virtual edition in 2020, this year’s conference will blend virtual and in-person activities to explore digital transformation horizons and the new global economy post-pandemic.

  • Global Chambers of Business Leaders Africa Participates in GEW

    The Director of Global Chamber of Business Leaders Africa (GCBL), Shakemore ‘Shacky’ Timburwa, will be involved in Global Entrepreneurship Week, where thousands of events and competitions in 180 countries inspire millions to engage in entrepreneurial activity while connecting them to potential collaborators, mentors, and even investors. In the same vein, the Namibian Business Hall of Fame will host Timburwa as this years’ keynote speaker and grant him the Honorary Award for 2021 during GEW.

  • China Prepares to Mark 13th Global Entrepreneurship Week Campaign

    GEN caught up with Chenyu Jiang, GEW Host in China and Project Manager at Shanghai Technology Entrepreneurship Platform (STEP) to discuss how the country is coming together to celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week.   

  • Lisburn and Castlereagh Celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week

    Global Entrepreneurship Week is back in Lisburn and Castlereagh City. Their Council’s Business Solutions Team will be hosting a varied program of virtual events set to inspire both new and existing entrepreneurs.
