Japan Innovation Network (JIN), the Japanese national host for GEN’s Entrepreneurship World Cup, and CIC Tokyo, Japan's largest innovation center, are holding a seminar on the“ Fundamentals of overseas expansion and success for startups and entrepreneurs” as a part of EWC Japan 2021 promotion on May 11th.
Many Japanese entrepreneurs who have established startups or are thinking about starting a company have the ambition to create a business that will change the world for the better. However, in practice, many startups that have achieved great success in Japan are struggling to conquer overseas markets. Unless this situation is addressed, and Japanese entrepreneurs continue to face the so-called “Galapagos syndrome”, start-ups that dominate tomorrow's world will not be born from Japan.
In this seminar, in addition to Mz. Fara Taraie, who runs Social Change Maker a program to support social entrepreneurs, Mr. Hiro Nishiguchi, CEO of JIN, co-founder with the UNDP of SHIP(SDG Holistic Innovation Platform) and GEN Japan Acting Managing Director, as well as Tadashi Kubo winner of EWC Japan 2020, will discuss the challenges and opportunities of Japanese entrepreneurs/startups who are active around the globe.
The last part of the seminar will be dedicated to introducing the EWC Japan 2021's edition to the audience and explaining the practical details and benefits of the competition to attract further participants.
