Namibia’s entrepreneurship ecosystem took another step towards greater regional and international engagement with the successful hosting of the GEC+ Africa Namibia Lead-Up Pitch Competition, bringing together ambitious entrepreneurs to showcase their businesses, innovations and growth potential.

The pitch competition was organised as part of Namibia’s participation in GEC+ Africa, providing local entrepreneurs with an opportunity to compete for the chance to represent Namibia at the continental entrepreneurship gathering in Cape Town, South Africa.

Participating entrepreneurs presented their businesses to a panel of judges, highlighting their value propositions, market opportunities, business models and potential for growth. Beyond the competition itself, the event provided entrepreneurs with an opportunity to sharpen their pitching skills and receive valuable feedback from experienced ecosystem stakeholders.

The competition reflects the growing importance of creating platforms that connect Namibian entrepreneurs with opportunities beyond the domestic market. International and regional entrepreneurship events such as GEC+ Africa provide access to networks, knowledge, partnerships, investors and potential markets that can contribute to the growth of local businesses.

For the participating entrepreneurs, the competition was therefore more than a pitch. It represented an opportunity to position their ventures within the broader African entrepreneurship ecosystem and demonstrate the innovation and entrepreneurial potential emerging from Namibia.

The event also reinforced the role of the Global Entrepreneurship Network – Namibia in connecting Namibian entrepreneurs to regional and global opportunities and strengthening Namibia’s participation in the international entrepreneurship community.

As Namibia continues to develop its entrepreneurial ecosystem, initiatives that provide entrepreneurs with visibility, networks and pathways to international markets remain important in supporting the development of businesses with the potential to scale beyond Namibia.

The emerging winner for Namibia's Lead Up Pitch Competition was Mindsinaction STEAM Centre (Pty) Ltd
