This space was designed to connect, listen, share, and strengthen Bogotá’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. The initiative is driven by the leadership of the Emprende+ program at the Universidad Externado de Colombia and the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN).
Flor Liévano, leader of the Bogotá chapter, highlighted the program's importance and explained the origins of the city's first Startup Huddle edition. She also presented information on the Global Entrepreneurship Network and its reach across various countries.
This session focused on Biotalega, a project founded by Yeffer Guzmán that develops biodegradable germination bags aimed at replacing single-use plastics and helping to mitigate environmental pollution. Guzmán served as the keynote speaker. Rather than delivering a standard sales pitch, he openly discussed the challenges his business faces during its current growth stage, facilitating a real-time mentoring session with industry experts.
Participants included Ruth Arroyo Tovar (Women in Tech Hub); Jorge Andrés Gaitán (founding partner, Entreluz); Ferney Pérez (Director of the Center for Entrepreneurship and Sustainable Innovation, Universidad de América); Adriana Prieto (CEO and founder, BCC – Virtual College Campus); and Álvaro Rivera and Jhoan Bernal (creators of Ramos Sexto Elemento). Faculty members associated with the Externado Entrepreneurship Center also took part.
The #StartupHuddle chapters in Colombian cities plan to meet on a monthly basis. Each session will feature selected entrepreneurs on a rotating basis, providing them with ongoing support to bridge market gaps, accelerate sales, and strengthen the consolidation of micro and small enterprises in the country.
