The Entrepreneurs Boot Camp (EBC) is partnering with Global Entrepreneurship Network - Kenya (GEN Kenya) to deliver the second entrepreneur’s accelerator and networking camp, themed the 2015 Mara Accelerator Boot Camp, on Dec. 18-21.

The Mara Accelerator Boot Camp is a unique event that will add value to the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region, as it aims to help individual entrepreneurs learn more about growing their business. The program will provide an accelerator environment where sessions will cater to the different stages of the entrepreneurs’ journey, as well as give participants the opportunity to network.

"The camp is providing a unique opportunity to grow the GEN brand in Kenya. There is existing recognition for the camp and this provides a fantastic opportunity for brand association," said John Wali, GEN Kenya managing director. "The critical goal is to link investors and investees. We are positioning the Boot Camp as the premier event for unlocking funds to accelerate startups."

Specifically, the Accelerator Boot Camp will focus on the growth and scale up stages, delivered through master classes offering specific interventions, as well as provide opportunities for potential investors to connect with viable innovators to establish partnerships.

This program follows the Global Entrepreneurship Summit (GES) in Sub-Saharan Africa, held July 2015 in Nairobi, Kenya. The selection of Nairobi as host city for the 2015 GES underscored how Africa, and notably Kenya, has become a center for innovation and entrepreneurship.

“Entrepreneurship means ownership and self-determination, as opposed to simply being dependent on somebody else for your livelihood and your future,” said US. President Barack Obama during the 2015 GES. “Entrepreneurship brings down barriers between communities and cultures and builds bridges that help us take on common challenges together.”

The camp will be held at the Maasai Mara, designated the seventh Wonder of the World. The Maasai Mara has been specifically chosen as the venue for this year’s camp because it provides a scenic learning environment, and showcases the beauty and diversity of Kenya. Register now.
