Global Entrepreneurship Week in Latvia will host Entrepreneurs' Experience Days
Applications for Entrepreneurs' Experience Days opened on October 21, 2021. Also this year, Latvian entrepreneurs will have the opportunity to exchange experiences for the development of their businesses during the Global Entrepreneurship Week, which takes place in more than 180 countries around the world from 8-12 November. Entrepreneurs and organisations willing to become experience providers are invited to apply and share their knowledge by 31 October. From 1 to 5 November, we will be inviting applications from participants who want to learn about the experience of other companies and organisations, make new business contacts and, possibly, generate new business ideas through this synergy. Participants can register on the platform: www.pieredzesdienas.lv

This year we invite to participate not only those who own their own business, but also experts, employees of companies, representatives of public institutions and non-governmental organisations, as well as academics related to the field of entrepreneurship.

Given the epidemiological situation in the country, this year participants are also invited to use the digital format for the exchange of experiences, meeting remotely. The digital application platform for the Entrepreneurs' Experience Days is provided by Swedbank in cooperation with the initiative's partners - the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (LCCI), the Investment and Development Agency of Latvia (LIAA) and the state development finance institution ALTUM.

"Global Entrepreneurship Week is a great international initiative that not only encourages and inspires entrepreneurs in these challenging times, but also allows us to ask the questions that concern us all on a global scale - how to adapt to change and how to build a stronger and more sustainable business environment for renewed growth. During these four years, the Entrepreneurs' Experience Days have enabled nearly 400 companies in Latvia to share their experiences, whose good feedback and gained benefits have encouraged the initiative to continue year after year. This experience sharing initiative is special because it provides an opportunity to step out of your comfort zone, learn how other entrepreneurs or organisations deal with similar issues, and thus come up with new insights, experience stories and possibly even new business ideas," says Lauris Mencis, Head of Corporate Division at Swedbank Latvia.

“This Global Entrepreneurship Week, we are celebrating some of the world’s most creative, innovative, and resilient citizens – and supporting them to become part of a better, more sustainable and more equitable post-pandemic world," said Jonathan Ortmans, president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). "Latvia's Entrepreneur Experience Days are an important part of this global movement, which will engage millions of people in 40,000 activities across 200 countries."

During the Global Entrepreneurship Week (8-12 November) and the Entrepreneurs' Experience Days, several discussions will also take place on topics relevant to businesses - sustainability, business technology and e-commerce, as well as the success gene of Latvian entrepreneurs. We invite everyone to watch the discussions on Swedbank Latvia Facebook page or Delfi.lv.

"Entrepreneurs' Experience Days are a great opportunity to learn how others work and to adopt best practices to improve your operations. Adopting positive experiences is one of the best ways to quickly make decisions that have been proven in practice. Businesses working in LIAA business incubators also regularly organise events to share both positive and negative experiences. Such events allow companies to avoid various unsuccessful experiments on their development path and to reach their goals faster," says Kaspars Rožkalns, Director of LIAA.

Jānis Endziņš, Chairman of the Board, Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry: "One of the priorities of the Latvian Chamber of Commerce and Industry is to promote the competitiveness and productivity of entrepreneurs by helping them with knowledge and exchange of experience. With the spread of Covid-19 and its associated restrictions, this year's Entrepreneurs' Experience Days will take place at a particularly difficult time for entrepreneurs, so the opportunity to participate in this event and learn how other companies work and solve problems, learning about their experiences and success stories, will give an opportunity to keep our hands off and forge plans for future development. I expect that participation in the Entrepreneurs' Experience Days will allow entrepreneurs to make new business contacts, generate new business ideas and, perhaps, give someone the impetus for a new business click."

Reinis Bērziņš, Chairman of the Board, finance institution ALTUM: "The virus pandemic has rapidly raised the issues of sustainability, e-commerce and the implementation of various technologies in the daily life of many companies. How to reach customers, how to retain and serve them more efficiently, how to safely take the first steps in export or find new markets, how to produce in an environmentally friendly way and not overpay for it. These and countless other issues are always on the agenda of companies, but the last year and a half has been full of new challenges for all of them, and sharing experiences in this context is more important than ever. We therefore invite entrepreneurs of all calibre to actively participate in the Entrepreneurs' Experience Days and share their experiences on how to not only survive this time but also make the most of it. ALTUM will also share its experience on different solutions for both overcoming the viral crisis and developing business through state support programmes."

Entrepreneurs are invited to share their #BusinessClick
This year, the Entrepreneurs' Experience Days invite entrepreneurs to take part in the #BusinessClick movement by sharing a small story on their social networks (Facebook and LinkedIn) about the moment when they decided to start a business or came up with an idea for a new product or service.
