An Affiliate of the Global Entrepreneurship Network

GEN Suriname

GEN Suriname was officially launched in early 2024 as the national affiliate of the Global Entrepreneurship Network. Prior to this, many GEN programs were being executed in Suriname, including Startup Huddle Paramaribo. Launched in 2018, the program received support from local stakeholders and partners including Leduc Academy, Ministry of Economic Affairs, and the US Embassy Paramaribo. With these partners, the GEN coordinating team organized a successful inaugural Global Entrepreneurship Week campaign in November. In 2020, the team organized the Entrepreneurs World Cup, which was a great success and received recognition from the Minister of Economic Affairs for being a real catalyst in helping entrepreneurs become more successful in pitching their business model to both local and international markets.

GLOBAL SPOTLIGHT

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
