GEN in Togo

GEN began building an entrepreneurial movement in Togo in 2010 when it launched its first GEW campaign in partnership with the Initiative des Jeunes pour le Développement. It was an immediate success, coalescing the nascent entrepreneurial community and providing an annual platform to organize year-round support for entrepreneurs. In 2018, to carry its work forward on a year-round basis, GEN established a national affiliate, GEN Togo. The inclusion of women and young founders became a defining thread of GEN's work in Togo and increasingly drew on European partnerships to unlock financing for underserved founders. GEN’s work in Togo rests on a broad coalition. It coordinates programming through the RISAT network of public, private, and academic incubators and works alongside the ADTPME, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togo, and the University of Lomé. Together with financing partners WIDU and the We4A initiative, the European Union, Expertise France, and GIZ support its programs.

Entrepreneurs Thrive Here: Global Entrepreneurship Week 2026

Millions of people around the world have the ideas, talent, and ambition to build something better for themselves and their communities — but have never seen entrepreneurship as a path available to them. Global Entrepreneurship Week, taking place November 16-22, 2026, changes that. This campaign meets people where they are and connects them to the networks, tools, and support to take that first step — showing what’s possible in their own communities.
