It has been an immense honor and a significant responsibility to lead the task of recruiting and assembling a national delegation for the GEC+ Puerto Rico event. Co-organized by the Global Entrepreneurship Network and the Puerto Rico Convention District Authority, this event will take place in San Juan, Puerto Rico, from July 15 to 18, 2024.

GEC+ Puerto Rico: An Invaluable Opportunity

For Paraguay, GEC+ Puerto Rico represents an invaluable opportunity to accelerate the development of the Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN). It allows us to invite partners to firsthand experience GEN’s vision, global leaders, and its programs’ value proposition for our country’s ecosystems.

The Paraguayan Delegation

The Paraguayan delegation attending GEC+ Puerto Rico consists of:

  1. Norma Barrios: Member of the GEN Paraguay Council and Coordinator of the EWC.
  2. Cristina Fernández: Representative of GEN Global.
  3. Juan Paredes Romero: National Director of Entrepreneurship at DINAEM, under the Vice Ministry of MSMEs - MIC.
  4. Jenny Sanabria: WED Ambassador in Paraguay.
  5. Isaac Gutiérrez Brugada: Representative of Capital Venture - PARCAPY.
  6. Carolina Luzardi: Founder of WARP INNOVATION.
  7. Germán Barreto: Coordinator of the Startup Lab at the Faculty of Engineering, National University of Asunción (UNA).

Vision 2035: An Entrepreneurial Future for Latin America (V35)

The central theme of GEC+ Puerto Rico is “Vision 2035.” This ambitious roadmap aims to create a more vibrant and prosperous Latin American economy by 2035. Specific programs and policies will position the region for exponential growth, aligned with its culture and rich history.

Three Sets of Questions

During the event, delegates will engage in keynote sessions, strategic planning, and practical training. They will have ample networking opportunities with founders, investors, ecosystem builders, educators, and policymakers. Three key sets of questions will be explored:

  1. V35: What should Latin American economies focus on – and avoid? Which industries and trends are shaping the global landscape?
  2. Leave No One Behind: How can each ecosystem capitalize on its diverse communities and unleash exponential growth by removing barriers and ensuring opportunities for all?
  3. Getting to Work: What specific actions can governments, communities, entrepreneurial support organizations, investors, and entrepreneurs take starting today?

GEC+ Puerto Rico promises to be a transformative event, where collaboration and shared vision will guide us toward a stronger and more prosperous entrepreneurial future for Latin America.
