In preparation for the second annual Entrepreneurship World Cup, competitors from around the globe take part in a series of virtual training and mentorship programs that help them hone their skills and increase their chances of winning their national competitions—as well as those who advance to the Global Finals—through EWC Accelerates. Within the EWC platform, participants have access to an exclusive content library with information from mentors who share their valuable insights.
This article is part of a series highlighting EWC Accelerates workshops.
In an earlier EWC Accelerates session, Chris Schroeder shared his tips on: Entrepreneurs in Emerging Markets.
Chris Schroeder is a Global Investor, Internet/Media entrepreneur, writer, speaker and moderator on entrepreneurship, innovation and global economies and markets. He is also an adviser to companies and governments in related areas. Schroeder is the author of the Startup Rising: The Entrepreneurial Revolution Remaking the Middle East.
Throughout this 'Ask me Anything' session, Schroeder spoke about how to prepare for funding rounds and what to look for when searching for possible investors for your company. He explained
- The value of money in entrepreneurship and how every entrepreneur needs to be cautious and not "fall in love with money;"
- Some insights on what is important for him, as an investor, to see in an entrepreneur at the idea, early and growth stage; and
- His knowledge on determining the correct company valuation after elaborating the difference between advisors and board members.
Those tuned in to EWC Accelerates sessions have the opportunity to ask leaders in the field questions, make comments and interact with fellow EWC competitors.
