The African Business Angel Network (ABAN) in partnership with Scaling Digital Agriculture Innovations through Start-ups (SAIS) is excited to announce the Call for Applications for the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network Cohort. We are seeking dynamic and dedicated individuals who are passionate about advancing angel investing across Africa and are interested in shaping the future of investing in Climate-Smart Agriculture.
Recognizing the urgent need for sustainable agricultural practices and technology integration in Africa, ABAN launched a sector-focused angel network dedicated to Climate-Smart Agriculture in 2023. This initiative was aimed to educate and support angel investors in identifying and nurturing startups that leverage technologies to enhance crop quality and quantity, optimize the agricultural value chain, reduce environmental impacts, and improve profitability for African farmers.
For this cohort, we aim to recruit business angels to be part of the Climate-Smart Agriculture Angel Network and provide them with context-specific tools, training, and technical support to maximize their engagement and effectiveness. Key activities will include training, networking, venture showcases, and technical assistance.
The objective of this cohort is to:
- Equip recruited angel investors with the essential knowledge, skills, and resources required for successful investments in early-stage Climate Smart Agriculture ventures.
Enhance the investors' capacity to support sustainable agricultural innovations, thereby driving impactful economic growth within the sector.
