The Global Entrepreneurship Network, Startup Genome, ABStartups and the G20 Startup20 have partnered to create the APEXE Nations Report as part of Brazil’s G20 2024 Presidency.
The APEXE Nations Report will compare countries in terms of their startup performance and will examine what contributes to a successful startup ecosystem, including talent, access to financial capital, support infrastructure, and more. The intent is to highlight the conditions needed for entrepreneurs to flourish, to draw the attention of national policymakers towards actions that can help startups thrive and ultimately boost their economy, and to establish a standardized methodology for measuring startup economies at a national scale.
A collaborative effort involving the wider G20 Startup20 community, the index will be launched around the G20 Social Summit in Rio de Janeiro on November 15–17, 2024, immediately before the Global Leaders Summit. It is the collective intention of all partners to develop the National Entrepreneurship Index into a core asset supporting future G20 Presidencies and G20 Leaders Summits in their efforts to work together and harmonize startup ecosystems globally.
"The National Entrepreneurship Index will underline the importance for global collaboration and we call on national representatives to work with us in creating this invaluable resource,” shares Marc Penzel, Founder and President of Startup Genome.
"We hope that its results may influence in polices to improve and develop those ecosystems," added Felipe Matos, VP at ABStartups.
