Yuval Yarden joins team to intensify efforts beyond Global Entrepreneurship Week

WASHINGTON, D.C. – As more than 1,000 partner organizations throughout the United States celebrate Global Entrepreneurship Week, the organization behind the initiative will be expanding its work to support emerging local entrepreneurial ecosystems year-round throughout the United States.

The Global Entrepreneurship Network (GEN) announced today the appointment of Yuval Yarden as the new Director for Ecosystem Engagement. She will take the lead role in uniting local, grassroots efforts while continuing the growth and development of the nationwide Global Entrepreneurship Week campaign.

“Global Entrepreneurship Week presents partner organizations with an opportunity to reach new audiences, expanding their direct impact while strengthening connections with others in their ecosystem,” said Jonathan Ortmans, president of the Global Entrepreneurship Network. “Yuval’s experience in supporting local growth in Philadelphia, as well as her connections to other ecosystem builders across the country, will enhance GEN’s ability to better support America’s entrepreneurship communities throughout the year.”

Prior to joining GEN, Yarden served as the first executive director of Philly Startup Leaders, a local non-profit organization focused on the growth of the city’s entrepreneurship and technology community. In her new role, Yarden will build out GEN’s communities of ecosystem leaders throughout the U.S., engage them in GEW USA and also help them leverage GEN’s global vast network of entrepreneurship leaders in 170 countries.

“I learned so much from my experience with Philadelphia’s startup ecosystem and am proud to be taking this knowledge to other mid-tier US cities in an effort to help them reach new audiences, build stronger local ecosystems and leverage GEN’s wide array of programs and networks,” said Yarden.
