Routouang Mohamed Ndonga Christian

Mr. Routouang is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the National Cement Company of Chad. He holds this position after an exceptional term as Minister of Youth in Chad where he was at the heart of unprecedented reforms. In this position, he was able to set up the first fund to support youth entrepreneurship in Chad, re-launch the soccer tournament after a decade of inactivity, organize the national youth forum, initiate the largest employment project in Chad's history, the much celebrated "50,000 Decent Jobs for Youth Initiative", and leading the process for the adoption of the integrated strategy for youth empowerment in Sahel. Mr. Routouang has succeeded in two years to give an expressive living environment to the youth, succeeded in the challenge of national unity in a country affected by war after three years through the king sport in Chad, soccer. In this fight for the development of Chad, he has tackled the deep causes of unemployment, through offers of bank guarantees to entrepreneurs with strong social and environmental impacts, sustainable alternative solutions to the problems of youth unemployment through community volunteering and vocational training.   Mr. Routouang is called by young Chadians "abana iyal", an Arabic expression that translates as "the father of youth". This appellation is probably the best testimony of a youth in search of a reference point, who for lack of jobs, devote themselves to alcoholism, banditry and other practices against good morals. Mr. Christian is a man of action who succeeded in seducing the last two Presidents by the innovative concepts that he proposed while he was still an actor of the civil society. This legitimacy allowed him to be an important actor during the current transition in Chad after the death of President Idriss Deby Itno. In this capacity, he heads the thematic commission on economic recovery.
