Global Entrepreneurship Network has again been appointed by the U.S. State Department as the lead private sector partner in support of its Global Entrepreneurship Summit.
This year’s summit is scheduled to take place in Hyderabad, India, from November 28-30 in close partnership with the Government of India. Approximately 1,500 entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters from the U.S., India and all other parts of the world.
Amongst other efforts, GEN will focus on the participation of entrepreneurs and the integration of private sector partners into the program. It continues GEN's focus on strengthening the ecosystem throughout India and its increasing effort in removing barriers to entrepreneurship regardless of age, race, gender or geography. The theme for GES 2017 is Women First, Prosperity for All and will focus on supporting female entrepreneurs and fostering global economic growth. The event will also highlight India’s enabling environment for innovation and entrepreneurship.
The nomination process for interested participants is almost over. Applications for U.S. entrepreneurs, investors and ecosystem supporters may be submitted until 11:59 pm ET on Friday, September 8.

GES 2017 will create an environment that empowers innovators, particularly women, to take their ideas to the next level. Through two and a half days of networking, mentoring, and workshops, GES empowers entrepreneurs to pitch their ideas, build partnerships, secure funding, innovate, and find their target customers -- creating new goods and services that will transform societies.
GEN, along with its president, Jonathan Ortmans, have been involved in the government-led summit since its inception in Washington, D.C. in 2010. The series aims to showcase inspiring entrepreneurs and investors from around the world creating new opportunities for investment, partnership, and collaboration; connect American entrepreneurs and investors with international counterparts to form lasting relationships; and highlight entrepreneurship as means to address some of the most intractable global challenges.
Previous host cities have been: Washington, D.C. (2010); Istanbul (2011); Dubai (2012); Kuala Lumpur (2013); Marrakech (2014); Nairobi (2015) and Silicon Valley (2016).
